Our Story & Heritage

Nearly 5 Decades of Educational Leadership in Port Harcourt, Rivers State

The Foundation of Bereton Montessori

On September 10, 1978, Chief (Mrs.) Victoria O.R. Diete-Spiff established Bereton Nursery and Primary School in Port Harcourt. Founded with a visionary ambition to nurture well-rounded children, the institution pioneered genuine Montessori early childhood methodology in Rivers State.

From modest beginnings, Bereton grew into a benchmark citadel of learning, expanding to two expansive modern campuses in Stadium Road and Old GRA, as well as founding its affiliated international boarding school, Charles Dale Memorial International School.
